Artist Call for Suffolk Exhibition closes 12 October 2015
If you are thinking about submitting your artwork to be showcased at Suffolk’s From the Studio Floor art exhibition, you only have a few more days left.
Taking place over three days in November 2015, From the Studio Floor is the second in a series of National exhibitions that will be showcasing the collective artwork of local artists and art lovers in Suffolk. Sponsored by Ipswich-based MLM, artists have until 12 October 2015 to submit their work for the upcoming show, which is seeking a variety of conceptual works, etchings, installations, sculptures, drawings and paintings.
“We’re thrilled with the response so far – and if you are thinking of taking part, there is still time to get involved,” comments Jessica Oliver, Artist and Curator at From the Studio Floor. “If you have never applied to an art exhibition, do not regularly sell your work or haven’t had the opportunity to exhibit recently, now is the perfect time to do it. We want to promote Suffolk art and encourage all to apply, whatever your creative talent.”
The theme is ‘Suffolk’ and the exhibition is welcoming contributions from anyone with a connection to the region, whether they live, work or derive inspiration from the area. Artists are invited to get involved by contributing just one never-before seen piece of artwork, either commissioned especially for the show or from an existing series.
Jessica continues: “It is a great way to meet other artists and discuss new ideas and concepts – and with thanks to our sponsors, MLM, we’ve secured a wonderful venue for the exhibition, Gallery 3 in the heart of Ipswich – we just need your help to fill it.”
Organisers will select between 15-20 projects, which will be showcased in the gallery and available for the public to purchase. From the Studio Floor will feature artwork from Thursday, November 12 until Sunday, November 15 at Gallery 3, Cornhill, Ipswich.
Deadline for entries is 12 October 2015 at midnight. It is free to enter and applications can be made here.
